A US Senator has written an official letter addressed to Niantic, the developer behind Pokémon Go game, to express concerns over the wildly popular game.
As of now, “Pokemon Go” is only officially allowed in three countries namely, New Zealand, Australia and the United States.
“When creating these games companies must consider the potential risks to young users and do everything they can to make sure their app doesn’t put them in danger”. With patch 1.0.1, Niantic has fixed the access scope of the game to limit its use of a gamer’s Google account details. Among the fixes are a change to the game repeatedly asking players to log in after being forcibly logged out.
The augmented reality smartphone game asks for full access for a user’s entire Google account – pictures, emails, browser history, location – everything. In response, the makers of Pokemon Go have said people should “play with friends when going to new or unfamiliar places” and “remember to be safe and alert at all times”.
So unless Nintendo introduces battles and trading, we believe that Pokemon Go will age very quickly.
“Pokemon Go” is a mobile gaming app where players can catch monsters and trained them to fight other monsters.
