The new Sun and Moon trailer also gives us a first look at the game’s map, and introduces us to Professor Kukui, who’s a bit less of an old stick in the mud than past professors. Solgaleo’s Ability is Full Metal Body, a new Ability that no previous Pokemon has had. This ability acts nearly like a shield that will guard Solgaleo’s stats from being lowered by its opponent.

“Since ancient times, Lunala has been honored as an emissary of the moon”. Referred to with reverence as “the beast that calls the moon”, Lunala is constantly absorbing light and converting it into energy. With its wings spread to absorb the surrounding light and glittering like a crescent moon, it resembles a handsome night sky. Lunala is a Psychic-Ghost type with the special ability Shadow Shield, while Solgaleo is a Psychic-Steel type with Full Metal Body. Professor Kukui is an expert on Pokemon moves and attacks, and is noted to having taken a few of them himself for the sake of learning.
