New poll finds emails weighing on Clinton

Just as Trump was settling on Pence, Republicans gathering in Cleveland essentially quelled the movement to oust Trump at the convention, all but assuring he’ll be the GOP nominee.

“Similarly, refusing to regularly answer questions from reporters in a press conference, as Hillary Clinton has, deprives the American people of hearing from their potential commander-in-chief in a format that is critical to ensuring he or she is accountable for policy positions and official acts”. Her ability to navigate the fallout from the email investigation will be a major plot line during the campaign. 40% of Democrats think she did “something wrong”.

Almost two-thirds of all respondents – 66 percent – said their view of Clinton was either unfavorable or extremely unfavorable. In a matchup with U.S. Rep. Patrick Murphy, one of the Democrats seeking his party’s nomination to run for Senate, Rubio was ahead 47 percent to 44 percent.

Additionally, the poll found that gender and educational divides continue to shape the 2016 race, with lower-educated male voters favoring Trump, and more highly educated female voters favoring Clinton. Of those backing him, 14 percent consider him at least somewhat racist.

Clinton has a clear advantage on handling health care, the USA image overseas, filling Supreme Court vacancies, working with Congress and improving race relations, according to the poll. “And it’s so typical of the Clintons: they just think they’re above the law and above everybody else”.

Mr Kaine is widely seen as the “safe choice” to become Hillary Clinton’s vice-presidential running mate, and that may be the biggest mark against him.

Things were not much better for Clinton, as 48 percent said they were terrified by the former secretary of state’s presidency, and 46 percent said they would feel regretful about it.

Melanie Thompson, a volunteer for the Sanders campaign, says she first started working to organize the march in June. Of course, this poll was completed before of Sanders’ endorsement of Clinton this week.

The New York businessman topped Clinton 44 percent to 37 percent in a Rasmussen Reports poll that was released Thursday.

Another 18 percent say she is only slightly honest.

Thompson, of CT, said he supported neurosurgeon Ben Carson’s campaign in the Republican primaries but recently placed a Trump bumper sticker on his vehicle.

Trump had spent weeks vetting vice presidential contenders, including former House Speaker Newt Gingrich and New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, and only zeroed in on Pence in recent days. “The truthfulness is everything”.
