Florida Senator Marco Rubio is now in third place with eight percent, followed by former Texas governor and establishment favourite Jeb Bush and former HP CEO Carly Fiorina both at seven percent.

‘Disproportionate focus today on a poll that, for now, is an outlier by showing him behind Carson nationally, ‘ Silver said on Twitter.
Carson’s rise is based on picking up more support from just about all groups, but his core base still shows substantial differences with Trump’s.
Ben Carson has placed first in a recent national Republican presidential primary poll, pushing Donald Trump into second place for the first time since June.
Seventy percent of respondents who selected a candidate to support in the survey also said that it’s still too early in the race to say for sure that their selection is the person they will ultimately back.
Trump also touted his Christian faith, just days after taking a swipe at Carson’s religious denomination, the Seventh-Day Adventist Church.
The rest of the Republican presidential candidates lag far behind in single digits.
While Carson has moved to the top, his supporters are less firm than that of Trump’s who say their minds are made up.
Stop me if you’ve heard this before…
“I am a great Christian”, Trump said.
Carson now narrowly leads the Republican field with 26 percent of Republican primary voters backing him.
The PPP survey has an overall margin of error of 3.3 percentage points.
Nevertheless, for the time being, Trump will have to come up with a few other reason as to why he should be president other than “I’m leading in every poll”.
Trump’s celebrity campaign, meanwhile, is starting to try a few voters’ patience, said one operative. Kasich asked his supporters, not mentioning Trump or Carson by name. But a few of these polls coming out, I don’t quite get it. I was No. 1 pretty much in Iowa from the beginning, and I would say we’re doing very well there. “The other polls, as you know, in other states are extraordinary”.

One testament to the end of his media surge: people barely noticed when he said that women like to wear burqas because they don’t want to put on makeup.
