New Poll Shows Clinton Leading Trump In Pa. By 9 Points

Pennsylvania is a swing state that has trended Democratic in recent presidential elections. In a head-to-head matchup, 50 percent of likely voters said they plan to vote for Clinton, while 41 percent said they would vote for Trump, according to the poll.
Among the four candidates, Clinton drew 50 percent of women and 41 percent of men while Trump had just 31 percent from women and 44 percent from men.
In a statement, David Paleologos, director of the Suffolk University Research Center, said deep support in Philadelphia was putting Clinton over the top in the Keystone State. In last week’s poll, Trump led Clinton by 1 point, 43 to 42 percent. “She also is amassing the support of women and thus drowning out Trump’s marginal lead among men”, he said.
Mook says that he believes the best way for Clinton to boost these numbers is for voters to “get to know” the Democrat better, which is something she will try to communicate in her speech tonight.
The poll also included a look at the hotly contest U.S. Senate race between Democrat Katie McGinty and incumbent U.S. Sen.
“I don’t necessarily accept their data and their premise”, Mook said of the Gallup polling that shows Clinton and Trump having similar negative ratings.

The survey of 625 registered Missouri voters was conducted July 23rd and 24th and has a margin of error of plus or minus 4 percentage points.
