“It could give someone really an edge leading into the states next week, absolutely, but it could also hurt some people if Marco Rubio doesn’t do well, John Kasich who’s really pushing hard in MI, if neither of them do well that could really put a hurt on them.” says John Roth.

Cruz has won six states.

Part of Cruz’s success on Saturday could be due to ME and Kansas’ caucus format, which require voters to show up at a specific time and stay longer than traditional primary elections. “When I look at the data, it’s clear to me that if I entered the race, I could not win”, wrote Bloomberg who had floated the idea of an independent 2016 campaign – particularly if Trump and Democrat Bernie Sanders were the two major-party nominees. Trump also won Louisville, the state’s largest city, which offset Cruz’s advantages in Lexington and the state’s western reaches. “We’re going to have to work hard – we’re an underdog – I acknowledge that – but I feel good about the progress we’re making every day and I feel very optimistic about it”, he said.

Rubio will host a rally Nocatee on Tuesday.

Trump has so far won 384 delegates to 300 for Cruz, but the contests over the next week will play a big role in determining whether any candidate gathers the 1,237 needed to win the nomination or if the decision will have to be made at the convention in July. His supporters filled seats at CPAC, although not in the same numbers as those for Rubio or Texas Sen.

Donald Trump charges that Republican presidential rival Marco Rubio is the worst Senate delinquent in years, perhaps decades.

“No matter who wins this Democratic nomination”, she said, “I have not the slightest doubt that on our worst day we will be infinitely better than the Republicans on their best day”. Originally 16 candidates, joined the republican race but only four are remaining now.
