New polls released with only Rasmussen again leaning to GOP

But a similar Poll of Polls earlier in the month averaging polls conducted in the week after the two back to back conventions found the Democrat leader ahead by 10 points, 49 per cent to 39 per cent.

The Real Clear Politics average has moved from Hillary +6.6 to Hillary +4.9 in the past four days. Most people would say Hillary Clinton now has an edge on Republican nominee Donald Trump and they are not necessarily wrong to say this. It’s that Hillary is losing many of hers. The demographics raise a couple of serious questions, however.

Clinton and Trump are the most unpopular presidential candidates in modern United States politics. But Trump’s starting point was far lower, and below that of a typical Republican candidate. Mitt Romney lost the 2012 election while winning white voters by 20 points, 59/39.

Which candidate voters trust on healthcare was not the only issue voters addressed in the poll.

The poll has not yet incorporated data in the wake of Trump’s last-minute trip to Mexico or his hardline speech that followed on Wednesday detailing his stance on illegal immigration. After all, they still need voters to turn out on November 8 and secure Hillary Clinton’s victory. That puts Trump at odds with most Republicans, who see Medicare negotiations as nothing more than the government dictating prices.
