New Porsche Cayman Black Edition is All-Black

“The all-in-black special series previously comprised the Boxster and the 911 Carrera with rear-wheel and all-wheel drive as both a coupé and a cabriolet, distinguished by their expanded standard equipment”, says the carmaker in its press release.

Porsche has given their Cayman an all-black treatment with the new Black Edition package for the sports vehicle. Also included are 20-inch Carrera Classic wheels and distinctive bi-xenon headlights with the Porsche Dynamic Lighting System. The 2016 Cayman Black Edition will be delivered to showrooms in the start of next year.

The name’s not exactly original – and nor is the trick of offering more equipment for less money than individually speccing a base vehicle – but if you’re in the market for a Cayman, the Black Edition is probably worth a look. The downsized 2.7-liter offers similar power to any 3.0-liter engine out there and that is mainly because of the connected turbocharger that enables the latest Cayman Black Edition to churn out an impressive 275 horsepower.

Crucially, the vehicle will also be one of the last Caymans to be fitted with a flat-six engine as the updated model is set to downsize to four-cylinder mills aided by a turbocharger. Interior amenities include an upgraded audio system, navigation, dual-zone climate control, heated seats, a sport steering wheel, Black Edition logos on the doorsills, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, and Porsche crests embossed in the headrests.
