New Posters Arrive For The Huntsman: Winter’s War

In short, it’s impossible to draw any firm conclusions about the quality of this or any other film from a handful of heavily Photoshopped images.

The very first character posters from the sequel-turned-prequel to 2012’s Snow White and the Huntsman have arrived. Hemsworth and Chastain play her trusted lieutenants. Charlize Theron is once again playing the attractive yet evil Queen Ravenna. The whole thing sounds like “Frozen” with battle scenes. And, in addition to returning cast members Theron as Queen Ravena, and Hemsworth, The Huntsman has added Jessica Chastain as “The Warrior” and Emily Blunt as “The Ice Queen”. Snow White won’t even be in the film, which explains why her name is absent from the title.

When Freya learns of her sister’s demise, she summons her remaining soldiers to bring the Magic Mirror home to the only sorceress left who can harness its power. Now, their amassing army shall prove undefeatable…unless the banished huntsmen who broke their queen’s cardinal rule can fight their way back to one another. See the first posters here, and then the trailer in just two days! Sam Claflin, Sheridan Smith, Nick Frost, Colin Morgan, Sam Hazeldine and Sophie Cookson also star.

The film is being directed by VFX artist Cedric Nicolas-Troyan from a script penned by Evan Spiliotopoulos and Craig Mazin.

Set several years before Snow White ever crossed paths with Theron’s evil Ravenna, The Huntsman: Winter’s War will focus on her troubled relationship with her sister Freya (Blunt), a powerful ruler with the ability to freeze any on-comers instantaneously.
