New signings on target as Liverpool beat Adelaide United
New signings James Milner and Danny Ings were on target as Liverpool beat Adelaide United 2-0 on Monday to make it three wins out of three on their pre-season tour of Asia and Australia.

Brendan Rodgers has named a strong side for the game with Simon Mignolet starting in goal and new signing Adam Bogdan among the substitutes.
When asked about his aims this season, he said: “On a personal level, hopefully I get as much football as I can, score as many goals for the team as I can, and be successful as a team”.
It was the second goal for Milner in Liverpool’s colours after he scored the winning goal against Brisbane Roar on Friday morning.
Having scored 11 Premier League goals last season, the striker is now targeting finding the net regularly for the Reds.
He started the counter-attack by driving from midfield and rushing into the penalty area after handing the ball off to his captain, Jordan Henderson.
However, the game had initially appeared to be destined to be a frustrating one for the Reds. Shots blocked when team-mates are better-positioned, one too many defenders tried to be taken on…the instances are frequent when Ibe’s decision-making doesn’t quite match his initial approach.

Gomez, 18, impressed Rodgers with another assured display at left back, even if Spanish winger Sergio Cirio gave him a few trouble in defence. His calming presence on the ball and clinical tackling ability stood out for the Reds. The Reds will then return home before facing Helsinki and Swindon Town away from home before they kick the season off against Stoke City.
