New ‘Simpsons’ Season 28 Couch Gag Honors ‘Adventure Time’
This Sunday, The Simpsons is returning to Fox for its 28th season…and that’s a pretty insane length for any show to reach!

The couch gag copies the setup of Adventure Time’s opening sequence, but features Springfield residents instead.
Hearing or watching the Adventure Time opening is one of those things that’ll pretty much always fill me with happiness without fail.
For those unfamiliar with Adventure Time, the series – which recently wrapped its sixth season on Cartoon Network – follows Jake the dog and Finn the human (pictured right) as they fight to protect the magical land of Ooo. Coincidentally, Mr. Burns plays a major role in that episode, launching an ill-advised gubernatorial campaign that was eventually thwarted by Marge Simpson. Amy Schumer guest stars as Burns’ mother.
It’s not quite as insane as the time Rick and Morty accidentally killed the Simpsons during the opening sequence, but it’s enjoyable enough.
You can catch the season premiere of “The Simpsons” on Sunday, Sept. 25 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on Global; you can also watch full episodes online.

The episode will showcase Mr Burns putting up a variety show to take revenge against the Simpsons who have damaged his reputation in Springfield. Let us know in the comment section below!
