New Sonic Game to be Announced at 25th Anniversary Celebration

Takashi Iizuka confirmed plans for the new game at a Tokyo celebration yesterday, reports Gematsu. Although some thought about the new title of Sonic comes this year to mark its 25th Anniversary, the truth is that fans will have to wait a little longer to get their hands on the new release. Fans speculate that it may be a new 3D game like “Sonic Generations” or may be a return to the classic 2D side-scrolling structure similar to what “Sonic the Hedgehog 4” did.

Anyway, we’ll all know more in less than a month’s time. More details about the upcoming title will be released on July 22, during Sonic The Hedgehog’s Anniversary Party in San Diego.

Sonic the Hedgehog is busy celebrating his 25th anniversary as a video game franchise, and this year is full of parties and events centered around that.
