New stadium means Spurs in ‘very tough’ period – Pochettino

Spurs have been excellent this season, having only lost three times in the league, which is the second least in the division behind Leicester. This home match is a must win for Spurs, with their main rivals at the top, Manchester City and Leicester, playing each other.
Tottenham are five points behind Leicester City, the leaders, but Campbell said that the side’s run-in, when they face Liverpool, Manchester United and Chelsea in April, will be more crucial than their game against Arsenal on March 5.
Full report to follow.
The former Arsenal man gave an interview with Sports Lobster this week in which he, rather innocently, seemed to point out that Spurs don’t have any players in their side that have already “been there, done that” in terms of winning top trophies.
Pochettino has previously said it is not his “philosophy” to buy players but he admits that Spurs need to be cautious in the transfer market while the £400 million Northumberland Park project continues.
“We need to have some checks and we need to look again but all seems to be normal and we hope he will be available for Saturday”. “For us, it is very important to keep the balance and find the right player, not only the strikers but in different positions”. This synergy is very important for the future. If you are clever how you sign [players] and how you mix the pieces, you can build a big team too. “You can spend a lot of money and create a big team and win everything”.
The England global had been left out by Mauricio Pochettino from the start after being withdrawn against Norwich due to dizziness, but it took him just a matter of seconds to make a difference.
“He is a very good player, a fantastic player, ” Pochettino said.
Quique Sanchez Flores brought on Deeney and Valon Behrami in a double half-time change and an injury to Miguel Britos meant he had used all three of his changes by the 54th minute. “If not the people kill you, if you take some decisions against the normal way that all the people think, or have thought in their minds”.

However, Pochettino is refusing to get sucked into the idea of simply getting one over Arsenal and is focused on making sure his own team achieves what it’s capable of doing.
