New stat-tracking coming to NBA summer league

With Marcus Morris, Danny Granger, and Reggie Bullock being dumped to Detroit, the second-year man out of NC State will have a much larger role with the team this season, and he will use Summer League to show the Suns he deserves it. He is oozing with athleticism and can jump through the roof, although he is a bit out of control.

Summer League action is moving to balmy Las Vegas this Friday. The Warriors’ summer session kicks off on July 10th against, appropriately, the team they just vanquished in the Finals, the Cleveland Cavaliers.

The Cardinal’s all-time leading scorer has signed on to the champs’ Summer League team. That included a three-game stretch in which he averaged 16 points on 22-of-31 shooting. Lacy has played in one game, compiling 2 assists and a rebound in 2 minutes of action.

After two impressive performances in their opening two Summer League contests, the Orlando Magic’s White team once again dominated on Wednesday afternoon, cruising to an 81-68 win over the Charlotte Hornets. The 6-foot-10, 250-pound big man completed his career at UMass 35th all-time in scoring with 1,107 points, sixth in rebounds with 881, fifth in blocks with 197 and sixth in shooting pct. with 55.3. It’s great news for anyone who wants to learn more about the National Basteball Association without having to resort to vague (and usually culturally biased) impressions of which players work hardest.

Ex- Michigan State guard Travis Trice is averaging 3.0 points in 11.7 minutes per game playing with the Miami Heat as a free agent. It’s clear that he belongs on a roster, as he proven to be a solid player since his rookie season with the Milwaukee Bucks. He should be a player to watch moving forward. But before the games tip off in a few hours, let’s take a quick look at what’s in store out here in the desert. Barea, Raja Bell, Andres Nocioni, Chris Andersen, Avery Johnson, the immortal Wesley Johnson (relax, I’m kidding – still though, he’s played way more than a bunch of dudes who were actually drafted), and John Starks.

“It has crossed my mind but I don’t like to look too far ahead”, Broekhoff said. Additionally, key players Draymond Green, Festus Ezeli and Harrison Barnes all cut their teeth in the desert for the tryout squad. It was his first game for the Pistons and he definitely made an impression.
