On the safety front, there’s an updated EyeSight system that uses color cameras which provide a wider and longer field of vision. The system also now features a lane-keep-assist function to help guide the vehicle back to the center of its lane. The SUV’s lane-keep assist system has been revised, and all Forester Limited and Touring trim levels will now include blind-spot detection and rear cross-traffic alert.

Subaru hasn’t made any major mechanical modifications, but it has improved fuel economy in the city and in a combined cycle by making tweaks to the CVT transmission. Additionally, turbocharged 2.0XT Touring models benefit from an active torque vectoring system borrowed from the WRX STI.

Exterior styling changes include a revised front bumper cover and a new hexagonal grille, as well as redesigned headlights.

To enhance cabin comfort, Subaru has added thicker door glass, an acoustic windshield, and extra floor insulation to reduce wind noise. Touring models also get new Saddle Brown perforated leather upholstery option with contrast stitching as an option with matching door panels and other details. The headlights have a sleeker appearance and Subaru’s C-shaped motif, which also appears in the LED taillights.

Later this year, Subaru will be launching an updated Forester. Two-position memory seats, auto up/down front windows, and automatic climate control are standard on most trims, while a power liftgate is no available on the 2.5i Premium model. The new 17-in wheels are standard on 2.5i Premium and Limited models, while the new 18-in wheel design is standard on 2.0XT trims. Finally, reverse automatic braking has been added to stop the Forester from backing into obstacles.
