New Title From Monument Valley Devs is a VR Game
The creators of the lovely , haunting mobile puzzle game Monument Valley want to take players on another scenic trip – this time entirely in virtual reality. Visually, Land’s End looks quite good and the gameplay will be based off of where you are looking.

The team behind hit smartphone game Monument Valley have made a virtual reality follow-up title. “So it’s kind of like large-scale sculpture”. “The way many people react to things in VR is different than how you’ll react”. Instead, players will use the headset to look around the game environment and navigate by fixing their gaze on items with indicators in that setting. You move at a leisurely pace through striking scenes by finding the next available point and focusing on it. Once you’ve locked on, you’re transported there at a comfortable speed – a compromise that lets a VR experience like Land’s End work without a controller.
The puzzles will also be controlled by head movements, levitating objects or joining dots across the dreamland while fully enjoying the visuals of the game. A project that was initially expected to take just three months to develop, Land’s End will finally see the light of day next month after a full year in the making.
Land’s End is a lovely looking game that Samsung Gear VR owners get to play first while the rest of the world waits for a possible release on their headsets.
Interestingly enough, Ustwo didn’t set out to create Land’s End as a VR game, but with VR technology improving, that’s the direction the game led them, especially with the introduction of Samsung’s Gear headset.
