In a teaser trailer released today, Toyota hints its commercial will be a rock ballad that targets millennials and highlights some of the car’s features including its sleeker styling and improved fuel efficiency. Powered by the most advanced and eco-friendly Hybrid Synergy Drive, Toyota Hybrid cars are low on emissions and take their responsibility of building a sustainable future very seriously. The new Prius gets several design changes both inside and out.
The DOHC combustion engine churns out 97bhp and develops a respectable 142Nm of torque. The Prius is the world’s best selling hybrid vehicle and is now in its fourth generation. The battery is smaller than before, but more durable, and with an increased charging performance.
Dimensionally, the Prius is 4,540mm long, 1,760mm wide and 1,470mm tall and has a large wheelbase of 2,700mm.
The new GD engine is 10% more fuel-efficient compared to the present version available in the market. As a brief reminder, the 2016 MY starts at $24,200 for the entry-level Prius Two model, which is rated 52 mpg (4.5 l/100 km) combined. According to Toyota, it uses a higher proportion of high-tensile strength steel in its construction, making good use of high-strength, lightweight hot-stamp materials to achieve rigidity of 980Mpa and higher. In terms of safety the Innova will offer ABS and airbags as standard whereas the top variant will come with seven airbags.
