New Twin Peaks series to be shot as a continuous movie
Finally, Nevins says that fans’ questions about the original series will absolutely be answered.

After rumors that we won’t see the show until 2017, there is now hope that “Twin Peaks” could be ready for 2016.
The idea was to originally only have nine episodes but it’s likely that the series will run longer than that.
That plan nearly went awry early in the year when Lynch and new network Showtime clashed over budget and an issue over the number of episodes. Now all we have to do is not do anything to jinx the project…
We’ve known for a while now that Twin Peaks, the surreal soap opera from 1990-1991 will be getting a new life on Showtime, with David Lynch returning to the helm.
Nine episodes were originally anticipated for the reboot season of Twin Peaks, but the Guardian reports that most of the core cast members on the Twin Peaks IMDb page are all listed as being in 18 episodes.
The network tweeted out a picture of a damn fine cup of coffee with the statement, “Shooting starts in September”. “I’ll take it when it’s ready”, Nevins said.
The drama series, created by Mark Frost and Lynch, will be shot as one long movie, which will be edited down into individual episodes, reported People magazine.
“I never had any doubts we were going to get him (Lynch) back… this was a huge priority project for me”, Nevins admitted. “I wanted it as badly as the biggest fans in the world want it”, he said.
Work resumed on Twin Peaks this summer, following co-creator David Lynch’s temporary departure over budgetary concerns.
“I’ve read all the scripts”, he said.
Only Kyle MacLachlan is officially confirmed at the moment, as casting is apparently still underway, though Nevins says the process is “fairly clear where it’s going”.

Showtime is focused on growing its slate of originals, but only “at a rate that we feel we can do great, meaningful television”. Featuring interviews with the 12 living directors of the Central Intelligence Agency, The Spymasters “focuses on the organization during one of the most controversial periods in its history – marked by the use of torture, secret prisons, undeclared war, lethal drone warfare and even an alleged assassination”. They’re going to shoot the entire thing and after that they’re going to begin posting. “It’s looking fit as a fiddle”.
