New United States bill for stricter vetting of refugees
For the second time this week, Obama lashed out at lawmakers and USA governors, a lot of them Republicans, who are pushing to block the administration from allowing 10,000 Syrians to resettle in the country. “It’s only right that prioritizes Americans’ safety first”, Reed said.

“Who are you going to call in Syria?”.
“If ISIS had hoped that their attacks in Paris would provoke the US and its allies into reacting with small minded panic, some governors are helping them get their wish”, said Linda Hartke, Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Service President.
Snyder is requesting more information to be passed from federal to state authorities, echoing calls of other governors for more information from the Obama administration about refugees being brought to their states.
“That’s why, even as the United States accepts more refugees-including Syrians-we do so only after they undergo the most rigorous screening and security vetting of any category of traveler to the United States”, it said. Immediately upon being admitted to the U.S.as a refugee, the refugees are authorized and expected to work.
“Apparently they are scared of widows and orphans coming into the United States of America”, he said later. The bill was introduced in Congress in response to last week’s terror attacks in Paris that left at least 129 people dead and several hundred injured; the bill is set for a vote on Thursday.
We hate to see that she has bowed to pressure from state and national legislators and fellow Republican governors to call for barring all refugees from Syria. Danielle Drake with Us Together says refugees trying to resettle in the U.S. must pass a 13-step process including a State Department background check and an in-person interview with the Department of Homeland Security.
Seven of the perpetrators perished in the strikes, plus one is believed to have been a Syrian who entered Europe via Greece.
Still, President Obama has insisted that the USA will continue to accept the refugees, slamming Republicans for suggesting that they pose a security threat.

Meanwhile, the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) of Louisiana joined a chorus of critics lambasting Jindal’s executive order banning Syrian refugees from Louisiana.
Republican leaders in the US Senate are also looking at the issue, but no decisions have been made, according to one Senate aide.

“We should rally around the president’s call for compassion for a suffering population that wants nothing more than a safe place to rebuild their lives from the rubble of war”, Markell wrote.
