New venue for Easter egg hunt

Children flocked to West Park Saturday wearing their Sunday best with one thing in mind – filling their colorful baskets with as many Easter eggs as they could find. It’s hosted by Joseph Pozzuoli Architects.

The Darby Community Public Library is hosting an Easter egg hunt at 11 a.m. on Saturday for children age 2 to 7.

The City of Orange will hold its annual Easter Egg Hunt for area children from 9 a.m. – noon, Friday, March 25, on the grounds of the Orange Riverfront Pavilion near the corner of Fifth Street and West Division in downtown Orange. Pastor Rusty Gunn said “We love the kids in our city and just wanted to provide something unique and over the top for them”.

Although there is a chance of rain and possibly snow into the evening on Saturday, the 1 p.m. Egg Hunt, although cloudy, should be dry according the forecast.

– Palm Coast’s Eggstravangza in Central Park in Town Center is scheduled to begin at 10:30 a.m. for ages 3-5, 6-8 and 9-12, and at 11 a.m. for toddlers age 2 and under. The hunt is open to children up through fourth grade, and homemade cookies and punch will be served at the conclusion of the hunt.

Besides the Easter eggs filled with candy and toys, participants might find an egg with a picture of a special prize inside. The youngest group will hunt their eggs inside the building, while the two older groups will be outside.

Children’s Pastor Joe Hughes said the Easter egg hunt will include a total of 60,000 eggs. Kids finding the “special” eggs will receive Easter Gift Baskets. Following the egg hunt, older kids are invited to participate in an eggernaut competition hosted by the Greater Eagle Fire Department.

Alison Hales, director of Paradise Park said: “For all you chocolate lovers, claim your mini egg treat when you complete the Paradise Park Easter Egg Hunt!”. We have information on quite a few, but we know there are even more.

Candy-filled pastel-colored eggs were scattered throughout the park, but each separate hunt had a single golden egg hidden among the others.
