Director Duncan Jones is best known for the award-winning sci-fi films Moon and Source Code, it will be interesting to see what he does with Warcraft. Warcraft: Skies of Azeroth, one of three VR experiences Legendary just released, throws you on the back of a virtual gryphon for a flight over the city of Stormwind. If you happen to be at Comic-Con, Legendary is giving away 50,000 new Google Cardboard units to view the VR experiences.

IGN was invited to attend Legendary’s Preview Event at their booth on Wednesday and got a chance to speak with Jones about his upcoming fantasy epic (full video interview coming soon!), as well as test out the Legendary VR. “With this world building that we’re doing in the movie, is there something we can do that can give you that sense of world building in VR?”

If you’d like to get an idea of what Legendary Pictures’ Warcraft film looks like, a VR app for Android and iOS is available for download.

The second VR experience, Beware Crimson Peak, delivers an evocative and immersive virtual reality horror experience that sets up Allerdale Hall as a psychologically haunting destination, created in partnership with Legend 3D. These will be sold exclusively at Comic-Con, at the Mondo booth (#835).

Though there are a handful of VFX sequences that still need to be touched up and put in order, Legendary’s Warcraft move is very much on the home straight ahead of its worldwide release in 2016.
