New Windows 10 Preview Build Includes Bash Support And Cortana Tricks
Time and again, Windows users have manifested their views on the slightest changes to the operating system. Since a vast number of users run insiders build on their primary smartphones, such a bug would dampen the user experience tremendously. You can’t however do this the other way around. Rumours are rife that the Microsoft Surface Pro 5 and Surface Book 2 devices will arrive with Windows 10 Redstone 2 update in the next year, with the Surface Phone expected to be unveiled along with these devices.

A new report cites inside sources that say the phone “won’t see the light of day” this year.
If you use Microsoft’s native Maps tool on Windows (Why would you not use Google Maps?), you can get Cortana to send directions directly to your phone.
Microsoft created and published several videos that demonstrate the new functionality.
Also included with this build is support for a couple of new Microsoft Edge browser extensions. Only then will you be able to harness the power of Bash. They brought back a more familiar version, albeit an updated one, for Windows 10.
To install extensions select the “three dots” menu at the top right, and there the Extensions menu item. All those features will come in Anniversary Update.
With this build, Skype users can try out the popular messaging and calling service’s new Universal Windows Platform app, which will replace the existing Skype app for Windows when it officially launches. When you open the Start Menu, you’ll see the list of all installed apps alongside most used and recently installed apps. There’s also now a setting to only show color on the app’s title bar. That being said, users have had the option to change that in most apps for months now, using a manual toggle. For instance, the Connect app dispenses with the need to use “a dock or Miracast adapter” when using the Windows 10 “Continuum” feature, according to Microsoft’s announcement. The new feature will support a wide variety of skin tones for some of the human figures.
Virtual Desktops: Windows can be pinned now to make them appear on all virtual desktops.
There are a few other features, such as an updated battery settings, more detailed update progress and the ability to pin a window so it’s available on every desktop, in the latest test build. If you are a developer and require the emulator for building apps, we suggesting moving to the Slow ring and skipping this build until we can fix this issue.

In some cases, attempting to turn on Developer Mode on may crash the Settings app. If this happens, the workaround is to use these steps here to enable Developer Mode. So perhaps the overall Windows 10 app-handoff scenario is OceanView, while the specific hand-off APIs enabling it are “Rome”?
