New Xiaomi Mi 5 seen in leaked video with colour variants

Along with these new images, a patent application for the fingerprint scanner used in the phone is leaked out. The Mi 5 was originally expected to be released by September this year, but the device was a no show at IFA. The newest rumours are suggesting that the telephone may launch on January 21, 2016 however given the current monitor document, we might not have our hopes excessive.

It is also being touted that the price of the phone to be $599, which translates to roughly Rs 40,000. The flagship in the snaps sported a metal frame with the front display panel coated with 2.5D glass and the back with curved 3D glass, as how it was described. The bottom edge will house a “USB Type-C port flanked by a couple of antenna bands and fine-drilled speaker grilles”.
