New York City painted woman arrested for prostitution

Police arrested one of Times Square’s “Painted Ladies” along with an alleged drug-dealing associate in a sting Wednesday, according to police.

Alas, the photo op was foiled when he accused one of the desnudas, 32-year-old Lourdes Carrasquillo, of snatching his wallet, police told the New York Post.

Gurmeet Singh, Walters’ lawyer, said that the women kicked his client and that paint on Walters’ clothing indicates that the Silver Cowboy pushed him to the ground. 20-year-old Destiny Romero sold $200 worth of drugs to an undercover police officer and offered to perform a sex act on the cop for another $200.

Reports suggest Carrasquillo had nowhere on her body to hide the wallet.

Authorities charged Romero with: felony criminal possession of a controlled substance, felony criminal sale of a controlled substance, and misdemeanor prostitution.

Romero and her handler were loners and some say they were not really a part of the painted ladies group, according to the Gothamist.

Carrasquillo, who was sent to the hospital on Wednesday evening with minor injuries, could not be reached for comment.

In her earlier interview with The News, Romero said, “This is about the money we make and the government doesn’t control”.

Walters was arraigned on assault charges in Manhattan Criminal Court Thursday night.

City Council Speaker Melissa Mark Viverito said she believes laws should be enforced but she still stands with the women.

She said she’s been cavorting topless for tips for four years.

He said: ‘as a human being and a parent, I don’t think it’s appropriate, in the middle of one of the busiest squares in New York City, that women should display themselves that way’.

Police say Times Square remains one of the safest spots in the city.

Maybe he’d have his photo taken with The Naked Cowboy, or Elmo, or even one of the bare-breasted “desnudas” he’d seen in the papers, before Mayor Bill de Blasio has them all cuffed and whisked away.

The women have been at the center of controversy because the mayor wants to ban them from Times Square.

A Times Square performer called the “Silver Cowboy” saw the scuffle and rushed to break it up, as did an NYPD officer posted nearby.
