New York Giants CB Prince Amukamara to miss 3-4 weeks
“It’s most unfortunate”, Coughlin said of Amukamara’s injury. Without any semblance of a pass rush, Steve Spagnuolo has been forced to call a lot of blitzes, leaving Amukamara and Rodgers-Cromartie on islands playing one-on-one defense. “So we must continue on”.

The Giants have won three straight to climb to the top of the NFC East, but will be without top cover cornerback Prince Amukamara for a while, head coach Tom Coughlin announced Thursday. In terms of Beckham, Coughlin said “we’ll see” if he can practice later in the week. And while that is, in itself, troubling for Giants fans, Amukamara’s injury situation may actually be worse than initially reported. He returned to finish the game, which will apparently be his last for a while. “But all these soft tissue injuries are very, very troublesome, occurring in games, if you will. And then being so long and trying to get people back”. Coughlin said the team will continue to shoulder on and other players will just have to step up and make the most of their opportunities. “I’m not going to get frustrated by it, but it’s very bothersome”.
Coughlin had no timetable for Cruz to return.
“It’s not a time to change now”, he said.
Numerous injured players did seem to be making progress towards participation in Monday’s game against the Eagles.

Three linebackers will not practice: Jon Beason, who suffered a concussion vs. the 49ers, has not been cleared to return to the field; nor have Devon Kennard (hamstring), and Jonathan Casillas (calf). Receivers Odell Beckham Jr. and Rueben Randle came out of the 49ers game with hamstring issues that will be closely monitored this week. The Eagles high powered offense got off to a slow start, but since getting their first win of the season in Week 3 against the New York Jets, the Eagles offense has really gotten going. “So happy that all these questions are about it”.
