New York Jets Dominate the Tennessee Titans to Move to 8-5
Fitzpatrick finished 21-of-36 for 263 yards and no interceptions as the Jets (8-5) extended their winning streak to three games – their first three-game streak since November 27-Dec.

If the Jets season were to end today, they would be the sixth seed and would be in the postseason, but they will need some help from contending teams to lose some of their games, plus the Jets have to win themselves, in order to ensure a playoff berth, which would be their first since the 2010 season.
“It was one of those games we wish we could have back and start it over”, Titans linebacker Brian Orakpo said. “Hats off to the Jets defense”. This left Brandon Marshall virtually uncovered, allowing him to catch a quick pass from Fitzpatrick and take it 69 yards for a touchdown. Calvin Pryor tripped on the play, leaving Mariota wide open. Mariota then threw a two-point conversion to running back Dexter McCluster. His good fortunes continue with an AFC Offensive Player of the week award for his 3 TD performance against the Titans. “We just have to continue to play and get better”.
“That was great”, Bowles said.
“I felt like it was an opportunity for me to play, which in having been cut and having been released and traded and all the different things that I’ve been through in my career, you never know when opportunities are going to come”, he said after practice Tuesday.
On if the Jets are peaking: “I don’t think we’ve peaked yet”.
“One of the best things with Chan and his system and really just the offense in general is that there’s not an ego”, said Fitzpatrick, who has thrown for a career-high 25 touchdowns.
Amid a first half that saw the New York Jets jump out to a 27-0 lead, the Tennessee Titans’ inability to keep drives going on third downs played a large role in the Jets’ dominating 30-8 victory on Sunday.
“We’re better than that, and they all know we’re better than that”, Mularkey said of Sunday’s first half. “We’re constantly working at it, still working at it. But it’s been good that they’ve grown together”.
With temperatures an unseasonably warm 68 degrees at kickoff, the Jets got off to an encouraging start. A 14-play drive on their opening possession was capped by Fitzpatrick’s 16-yard toss to Decker.
Powell took a short pass from Fitzpatrick and slipped and zipped his way into the end zone for a 16-yard touchdown that made it 20-0. Bullock had his first miss of the season with the Jets, just pulling it wide on a 53-yard attempt.
Searcy later left with a hamstring injury. Sunday marked the third week in a row that Ryan Fitzpatrick has not thrown an interception. Mularkey said the Jets went straight to the line without huddling, snapping the ball just as he was trying to alert the side judge their headsets went out for a timeout.
The Titans caught a bad break when the communication device went out to the field, or upstairs.

“I want to write my own piece of the psyche of a No. 1 receiver or prima donnas or what we call divas”. 11, 2011. That was three teams ago for quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick and two teams ago for wide receiver Brandon Marshall.
