New York Jets select Jamal Adams with sixth overall pick
The Chiefs sent the No. 27 and No. 91 overall picks in this year’s draft to Buffalo in order to acquire a successor to Alex Smith.

The Jets are at a crossroads in Mike Maccagnan’s tenure as GM, with uncertainty at quarterback and depth issues elsewhere on the roster.
But not this year.
In his three college seasons, he had five interceptions and 127 tackles. He instantly makes one of their weak spots a strength, and was actually the No. 1 player head coach Todd Bowles wanted. In fact, this selection may spell doom for Pryor, a former first-rounder himself, because the Jets need to decide by next week whether to pick up his fifth-year option. Who will they draft?
The Giants last drafted a tight end in the first round in 2002, when they took Jeremy Shockey out of Miami.
“Again, we were quite happy”. “He’s not afraid to tell the Giants fans he’s a Jets guy now”. Williams has gone on to become a Pro Bowl player while Lee was second on the Jets in tackles last season as a rookie despite playing only 13 games.
He also joins another unique fraternity with his father George Adams, as just the sixth father-son combo to both be drafted in the NFL’s first round.
“I’m beyond happy”, he said.
Some teams are in more desperate need of reinforcements than others, but none are so loaded they can’t afford to improve. The addition of Adams should help change that, and change it right away. He took the best player available, and to everyone’s surprise, that available player was Adams. He’s an alpha, good on and off the field.
“We thought he was a very good, well-rounded player”. “They would come and get me.it’s great to be a Jet”.
Adams is the fourth defensive back from LSU picked in the first round since 2011, continuing the program’s tradition of churning out the nation’s best secondary players.
