New York’s impact on the election

“Cruz is just about mathematically eliminated”, Trump added for good measure, even as wife Melania and daughters Ivana and Tiffany joined him at a victory party in Trump Towers, where Frank Sinatra’s “New York, New York” blared in the lobby.

Bernie Sanders has not stopped talking about what he thinks is wrong with the system, including the closed primaries, the schedule of debates, and the seemingly joint fundraising committee of the Democratic National Committee (DNC) and Hillary Clinton’s campaign.

At a campaign event Thursday night in Harrisburg, Pa., Trump noted the Vermont senator has “been tough on her”.

I think the same argument that Hillary Clinton used for not ending her campaign in 2008 applies to Bernie Sanders in 2016. Sen.

“I promise you this: we’re going to get the nomination”, said Donald Trump, (R) Presidential Candidate.

At a campaign event in the United States sate of Pennsylvania on the same day, Clinton said she would not respond to Trump’s comments about her. He said, “I have opposed all of these trade agreements”.

Trump’s total for NY is 89.

Never before have superdelegates lifted a candidate to the Democratic nomination when he or she trailed in pledged delegates. “And remember, when I withdrew in June of 2008, polls were showing that at least 40 percent of my supporters said, oh, they weren’t going to support Senator Obama”.

State Sen. Eric Lesser, D-Longmeadow, a member of Clinton’s Massachusetts Leadership Council, said he believes the former secretary of state’s NY win is “definitely a shot in the arm”. “Nobody is getting to 1237”, said Ted Cruz, (R) Presidential Candidate.

According to the New Haven mayor, Bernie Sanders’ campaign reached out to the city about setting up a rally in the city, but nothing has been scheduled. “So I had to get to work, and I had to make the case”. Trump maintains the delegate count lead with 847, followed by Cruz with 553, and then 148 for Kasich.

Military veteran Wendell Ritchie says he sees Cruz as “a straight shooter” who doesn’t pull punches, and hopes Cruz will “keep being real”. The latest Federal Election Commission disclosure forms, filed by both campaigns on Wednesday, show that the Sanders campaign’s March haul in individual contributions was close to double that of the Clinton’s.

The next round of primaries will take place April 26 in Connecticut, Delaware, Maryland, Pennsylvania and Rhode Island. If Trump had those 54 delegates sewn up prior to the July, there’s likely no contested convention and he would be the party’s nominee.
