New Yorkers blast Ted Cruz’s comments on ‘New York values’

“Based on the fact that Ted Cruz was born in Canada and is therefore a “natural born Canadian”, did he borrow unreported loans from C banks?” he asked.

The Republican presidential nomination is growing increasingly more fractured as the primary race becomes more urgent.

After hearing some hostile comments about New York, Governor Andrew Cuomo spoke to NY1 this morning and blasted the comments made by Ted Cruz during last night’s GOP debate in SC.

“Everyone understands that the values in New York City are socially liberal, are pro-abortion, are pro-gay marriage, focus around money and the media”, Cruz said.

“When the World Trade Centre came down, I saw something that no place on Earth could have handled more beautifully, more humanely than NY”, he told the debate’s audience.

Considering this, it can be said that Ted Cruz’s remarks can open a new front between the two.

In addition to eligibility questions, Cruz has faced scrutiny over a New York Times report that he had failed to disclose in Federal Ethics Commission filings nearly $1 million in loans from Citibank and Goldman Sachs, where his wife works.

“And Ted Cruz criticized NY and the people of NY?” In perhaps his strongest moment at any GOP debate, Trump unloaded on Cruz Thursday by making a poignant appeal to the strength New Yorkers showed following the September 11 terrorist attacks. Cruz’s father was a US green card holder and a Canadian citizen though his mother was born in the United States.

Cruz’s “apology” hit many more conservative issues.

The first-in-the-nation Iowa caucuses are just over two weeks away, so that leaves little time for pulling punches.

Presidential rival Donald Trump has questioned whether Cruz is eligible for the presidency. The Republican front-runner, who was either unaware of Levin’s criticism or disregarded it, continued his Cruz attacks after Levin published his post.

He then attacked the Cuomo for his opposition to tracking, de Blasio for his policies on taxes, charter schools and policing.

So, among much else that could be said, I think Marco Rubio had an excellent night.

Upon being released, Cruz quipped, “Who put Donald Trump in charge of the elevators?”

Trump warned that candidates like Cruz would hire “political hacks” in their administrations. “I think the American people is looking for a commander in chief who is stable and steady and a calm hand to keep this country safe”, Cruz added.
