Around 4 p.m. on Friday, deputies were sent to the area between 136th Street and Slater Avenue for report of a baby crying in the riverbed, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

Authorities are looking for the mother of a newborn baby girl who was buried alive near a Southern California bike path.

The baby was treated at the scene and taken to a hospital where she is in stable condition, according to investigators.

An abandoned newborn baby has been found buried alive in a hole in the ground beside a footpath.

After the women realized that the cries were coming from an abandoned newborn baby, they immediately called 911 for help.

“I know we living in some bad times, but d**n”.

Jesse Wells, the Emergency Department Medical Director at Mercy Medical Center in Redding, a parent can anonymously give up a child to the hospital, no questions asked.

They checked the baby’s vital signs and called paramedics. “God bless the two ladies that found this baby”, said Angel Flores, a neighbor.

Sheriff’s deputies sought the public’s help Saturday for information on the girl’s identity. She was believed to be only 36 to 48 hours old when deputies found her.

Investigators still have not located the girl’s parents, nor did they know their identities. If the parents are found, they could face attempted murder and child endangerment charges, CNN reported. Safe surrender sites include hospital and fire departments.
