Newcastle sign Arsenal’s Hayden
Hayden became Newcastle United’s fifth summer signing yesterday when he penned a five-year deal to complete a £2.5m switch from Arsenal.

A graduate of Arsenal’s academy, Hayden made his senior debut in September 2013 in a League Cup tie against West Bromwich Albion but made only one other appearance for the Gunners. No use in betting, games or single club/league/player publications.
Hayden joined Hull City on a season-long loan last summer and played a part in their successful promotion bid. His versatility could be vital as Newcastle look to embark on a heavily-congested Championship football calendar.
Benitez, who has already drafted in Matz Sels, Matt Ritchie, Dwight Gayle and Jesus Gamez, added: “We continue with our plan to bring in players who are hungry to succeed and prove themselves, which Isaac really is”.
Hayden failed to a break through at Arsenal.
His experience in the Championship should stand him in good stead for the challenges ahead at St James’ Park where Rafa Benitez is trying to inject his squad with youth.
Hayden again spoke to NUFCTV, but this time, it was to praise his new manager. I’m sure that he’s got different coaching methods to what I’m used to so I’m sure I can learn. So for me to have that initially was massive, and as soon as I left that meeting, I knew this was the right place for me to come.
Despite relegation, the Magpies have overseen a healthy sale of season tickets which is testament to fans of the club.
