Lovato took the stage and performed her new hit song “Confident”, later dedicating another to Clinton, “who everyone should vote for”, the singer said.

Democratic presidential contender Bernie Sanders has soared past rival Hillary Clinton in a new poll out of the first-in-the-nation caucuses state of Iowa.

Hillary Clinton delivered a blistering assessment of Bernie Sanders’ credentials here on Thursday and implored Iowa voters to scrutinize his policies and readiness for the White House, declaring, “Theory isn’t enough”.

In hypothetical general election matchups, Sanders outperforms the former secretary of state, according to a CNN/WMUR poll released Wednesday, beating five different Republican candidates by double digits.

Populist Trump, who has surprised all political pundits in the USA with a sustained campaign he has run so far, has been leading all opinion polls since he announced his candidature last summer.

Introducing Clinton, Senator Jeanne Shaheen, a Democrat from New Hampshire, highlighted her tenure as a secretary of state and before that in the Senate.

“The proposal would not succeed, but it would cause very real consternation among our allies and partners”, Sullivan added. She will be back in New Hampshire next week.

Many of those in attendance tonight said they were still undecided about who they would caucus for in 11 days, but that Lovato’s endorsement of Clinton wouldn’t sway them either way.

Clinton began her remarks here by stressing that, compared to the candidates on the Republican side, she and Sanders disagree on relatively little.

Though the tightening nature of the race, particularly in Iowa, hasn’t sparked widespread panic among her supporters quite yet, it’s worrying some donors, as well as Bill Clinton and their daughter, Chelsea, who shared her concerns at a meeting with supporters in NY this week, according to people close to the campaign, who spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to discuss private conversations.

“I don’t think any celebrity would really influence my choice for president that much”, 23-year-old Grace Junkins told ABC News as she waited in line for the event. I’ve seen her on the trail [on debate night in New Hampshire]: “she is charismatic and energized”.

“It’s a recipe for gridlock, and her position is we can’t afford to wait”, Clinton said. “Sanders has not thought through these crucial national security issues that can have profound consequences for our security”, the letter said. A Monmouth University poll of likely Iowa caucus-goers conducted earlier this week found Clinton garnering about 48% to Sanders’ 39%, for example.

We just might get that Trump-Sanders choice after all
