Just the other day, a young woman living in the state of Kerala in India hanged herself after her husband confiscated her phone and refused to give it back. On Monday he reportedly abused her over spending too much time on WhatsApp and Facebook and took away her mobile phone.

When he realized that he could not get through to her and that he would have to share his wife’s attentions with her phone, the husband got terribly mad.
The woman, identified only as a 20-year-old named Aparna from the Kerala region, became upset following a row with her husband about her constant use of Facebook and WhatsApp.
After the argument, Aparna is thought to have locked herself in her bedroom, ignoring appeals from her family to open the door. It’s been reported that the woman was constantly on her mobile phone, checking social media because her husband was absent for so long.
The Times Of India reported that when Aparna’s anxious husband finally decided that the time was nigh to bust down the door and check on his wife’s safety, he was shocked to find her hanging on her dupatta, which she had attached to the ceiling. Though he rushed her to private hospital, she was declared brought dead and the body was then taken to Government Hospital, by police, who arrived at the scene.
DM tells us the man was so shaken up by his wife’s suicide he even attempted to end his own life. However, his relatives stopped him from doing this.
