NewsAlert: Rosie MacLennan to carry flag in Rio
Rosie MacLennan was full of pride after being officially introduced as the flag-bearer for the Canadian Olympic team for the Rio Games at Parliament Hill Thursday. MacLennan takes the reigns from London 2012 Flag Bearer, Simon Whitfield.

She showed her London win was no fluke by taking her first world title in 2013 and adding silver the following year.

She first competed at the Beijing Games in 2008, where she qualified for the finals and finished in seventh place. She added another silver in 2014. “Our flag-bearer certainly does, but I guess we’d put a particular emphasis on the higher for this particular athlete”.
