Newt Gingrich Says Trump Making Himself ‘More Unacceptable’ Than Clinton

Donald Trump has dismissed Barack Obama’s time in the White House as a “disaster” after the U.S. president said he was not fit to succeed him. “She is one of the biggest liars that ever ran for president?’ It would take two hours of your show, for me to list all the lies and would take another two hours to show you all the crimes she committed, if I were US attorney in NY she would be indicted now”.

“But I want to make clear to you that there’s really nothing more that I can add to the very strong feelings I have about my family, my friends and their sacrifice, and the fact that you not only have to respect but love the family members who have made these sacrifices”, he said.

The controversial real estate mogul has been known to stir the pot with his unfiltered sentiments, but Trump pushed the boundaries on Tuesday, August 2, when he told The Washington Post that he is refusing to endorse House Speaker Paul Ryan or Sen. “Beat Crooked H!” the Republican nominee wrote on Twitter early Wednesday, referring to Democratic rival Hillary Clinton. The GOP nominee’s recent behavior has reportedly inspired top Republicans anxious about their party’s future to begin planning an “intervention”, according to NBC News.

“He just seems willfully destructive and willfully sort of sadistic about other Republicans”, said Rick Wilson, a Florida-based GOP consultant who has spoken out against Trump for more than a year.

Whitman’s decision comes at an inopportune time for Republican supporters as Trump has faced backlash for his controversial comments regarding sexual harassment and an ongoing feud with the family of US fallen soldier Humayun Khan.

If his poll numbers crash, and Republican politicians start worrying more about losing their own races in November than alienating their party’s base, the Trump-coaster could career off the rails at last.

Trump’s latest comments come on the heels of his criticism of Khizr and Ghazala Khan, whose son was killed in Iraq in 2004.

Clinton, meanwhile, kept up her assault on Trump’s business practices, holding up a Trump-branded tie as she spoke at the Knotty Tie Company in battleground Colorado. He also faces a strong general election challenge from Democratic Rep. Ann Kirkpatrick if he wins the primary. To vote Republican out of party loyalty alone would be to endorse a candidacy that I believe has exploited anger, grievance, xenophobia and racial division. “And he’s only 5 or 6 points behind”, Bennett said.

Indeed, Trump on Wednesday reported raising $80 million in July for his campaign and the Republican Party.
