Newton, Panthers rout Cardinals, 49-15 for NFC title
When healthy, Palmer has been a solid quarterback if not spectacular, and he is a ideal fit for Arians’ schemes in Arizona. Newton wasn’t at his best in last year’s playoff meeting, finishing 18 of 32 for 198 yards, two touchdowns and an interception while rushing for 35 yards. He kept taking a “Don’t mess this up” approach during the first half against the Green Bay Packers, and that didn’t go so well.

Carolina ranked second in rushing in the regular season (143 yards per game).
The Carolina defense sacked Carson Palmer five times – three by Charles Johnson.
These are 2015 file photos showing Arizona Cardinals head coach Bruce Arians, left, and Carolina Panthers head coach Ron Rivera, right.
One Arizona player who is quite familiar with chasing Tom Brady – and relishes tracking down Manning too – is whirling-dervish pass rusher Dwight Freeney, a former three-time All-Pro for the Colts.
Too bad for the Arizona Cardinals that is easier said than done. “But they both come on the field and play as hard as they can. But if you can’t do that then you have no chance”.
The Broncos (59 percent) and the Panthers (61 percent) both have the best win probabilities this weekend in the conference championship games.
“We’re going to turn Cam Newton into a fig newton”, Sen.
That’s true, but Newton may be the NFL’s ultimate dictator.
“I know the guys appreciate everything that you’re doing today”.
Arizona had the league’s top-ranked offense and seemingly got better late in the season, thanks in part to the emergence of rookie running back David Johnson.
Palmer is by nature guarded, and perhaps that reflects his journey.
Newton has taken the Panthers to three straight NFC South titles, something never previously achieved.
According to ESPN, defensive coordinator James Bettcher’s aggressive defense blitzed a league-leading 45 percent of the time this season. He has overcome a torn ACL.
The Broncos and Cardinals have played only 10 times in their history, with Denver winning eight of those and tying one. His teammates believe a weight was lifted. “I feel as if I bring a unique way in some ways”. No other National Football League team lost fewer than four games.
As for Arizona’s defense, they are another unit that is great but they are all susceptible to being exposed.
“He spreads the ball as well as anybody I’ve ever been around, especially in the red zone”, said Arians, whose specialty is managing quarterbacks.
It is time again to see what artificial intelligence has to say about Sunday’s game with the Arizona Cardinals. “Larry’s (Fitzgerald) numbers are up, but they all have really good numbers”. Nobody talks about that much because we’re all blinded by the air raids of Palmer and his trio of first-rate receivers.
All those options help Palmer stay unpredictable.
Get the run game going. You always want to get Mike going, you want to get Smokey (Brown) going, but you’ve got to fight that urge. “Really contain him. You can’t really stop him”. “As big as this game is, you can’t make it bigger than it is”. “You’ve got to respect the process, which is playing the game Sunday night. The guy that’s open should get the ball, whether it’s number 11, 15, 12, whoever”. That’s exactly the emotion Arians wanted from his quarterback. And that’s just fine by the Panthers. “Most certainly. Let’s stay focused on what we did – we won the football game”.

“When we had that little dust-up in training camp, I was all set to give this big speech to the team about loving your brother and all this stuff”, Rivera said.
