Although many fans were expecting another update for NFS 2015, Ghost developers confirmed that the “Speedlist update” will be the “last free update”.
With 2017 in mind, it seems that “Need for Speed” is following an every other year model. In the upcoming latest version, few upgradations will take places such as Manual Transmission, Snapshot Pro, Wrap Sharing, Speedlists, Customization items, bigger garages and much more updates. “We’ve also introduced Hot Rods, saw the return of Drag Racing, and you once again went toe-to-toe with the infamous Eddie”. The company mentioned in their blog post that they will be working with the community to create “multiple opportunities” to bring fans “into the studio” in the coming months in order to get feedback on where they are headed.
“The feedback our community has already given us is already shaping the future of Need for Speed”, the post reads, “and it will continue to do so as we move further into the development of the next game”. Incorporated in 2011, Ghost Games houses many veteran developers, including former staff from Forza Horizon creator Playground Games and Project Gotham Racing studio Bizarre Creations.
