Banks will continue to serve as executive producer for the new season, but the revamped 14-episode show will feature a new host and judges, to be announced at a later time.

VH1 has ordered a new cycle of the show, which ended on The CW in December after 22 cycles since 2003.

The move, of course, makes sense, since VH1 was the first network pick up the show in syndication and continues to host ANTM repeats.

Tyra Banks concluded, “After creating an incredible, global brand, I am beyond excited to have the show reborn”.

“America’s Next Top Model” is coming back to TV, this time on VH1 and without longtime host Tyra Banks. “Get ready for a fierce-a-fied rebirth”, she added. Any wishes for the show’s new host??

VH1, which has been on a ratings upswing the last couple of quarters, has been focused on young viewers, now ranking #8 in adults 18-34, which also has been Top Model’s core demo.

Instead, Banks will merely maintain her role as an executive producer on the show.

“[We aim to] breathe new life into one of the greatest unscripted franchises on television”, he said. “VH1 is the flawless partner for this new endeavor and we hope this is the beginning of a long relationship”.

In addition to Tyra Banks, many other famous faces from the modeling and fashion world appeared on the original version of the show, including Janice Dickinson, Kimora Lee Simmons and Kelly Cutrone. CTD produces or distributes 10 first-run series and holds the largest distributed television library at 70,000 hours strong. CTD is a unit of CBS Corp.
