Next Wolverine Movie Confirmed To Have R-Rating

The film will take the audience to the future and take a sort of western tone.

Let’s just hope every superhero film franchise has talented enough writers to pull this off. Kinberg stated that “Wolverine 3” is now filming this year and it will be a R-rated movie to its violent content comparing it to a “western stye” theme, Screenrant reported.

When asked about reports that Patrick Stewart is playing Xavier in the film, he said, “I’m not sure what I’m allowed to say about that”. The film, which will be Hugh Jackman’s final time playing the clawed mutant, will be directed by “The Wolverine” helmer James Mangold. Kinberg also addressed some rumors of other X-Men characters who may appear in the film, as well as Wolverine 3’s setting.

Previously, all the “X-Men” movies, including the standalone “Wolverine” films, have carried a PG-13 rating. Deadpool also prompted Fox to unleash Logan’s true comic book character and opted for the film to be R-rated as well. If that’s the case, an Old Man Logan adaptation could work very well as Jackman’s last outing.

Unfortunately, none of this has been officially confirmed for “Wolverine 3″… but with Simon Kinberg’s latest comments, it’s all pointing to an “Old Man Logan” movie. It seems the rumors will still have to wait for the producers to give more details regarding Professor X. In the meantime the third Wolverine movie has been set for a release on the 3rd of March, 2017.
