Here we are less than a week to the end of a completely unpredictable, engrossing and rather eerie World Cup that no one is planning to forget.

“Without a single goal, Gabriel Jesus had the worst performance of a Brazil No. 9 at any World Cup”, Globo Esporte said.

‘I can tell you this is the saddest moment of my career, the pain is huge because we know that we could have gone far, ‘ said Neymar. But it wasn’t meant to be.

Neymar and the Brazil team may have exited the FIFA World Cup 2018 but his legacy at Russian Federation 2018 is making waves online in form of the #NeymarChallenge.

The 1950 World Cup is known more for Brazil’s failure than Uruguay’s triumph, while the 1982 tournament is a rare example of a team who didn’t win the tournament – Brazil – being remembered more fondly than the eventual winners, Italy. After an early score from Russia, Croatia was able to find an equalizer and the two countries once again headed to extra time. I’m very happy to be part of this team, I’m proud of all the players.

Regarding the issue of favourites, France defender Raphael Varane gave his opinion that there are no sure favourites to win the ongoing FIFA World Cup.

Former Brazil striker Ronaldo urged the Brazilian Football Confederation to keep Tite on as the team’s head coach. With only one loss under him, the five-time world champions arrived in Russian Federation among the main title favorites.

“We’re ambitious and only thinking about winning the World Cup”, he explained in his pre-match press conference. “It’s very hard to be here”. In Uruguay versus France match, most favoured France while many others including me though the Uruguay would go through.

“Now a lot of questions have been answered in terms of saying “this is a team, not a group of individuals”.

The squad left Kazan on Saturday without talking to reporters.

A Fernando Luiz Roza own goal in the 13th minute got things started for Belgium, who would extend the lead in the 31st minute.

Fernandinho, Marcelo, Paulinho and Willian played in the 2014 loss to Germany.

Belgium have enjoyed a fantastic World Cup so far and Kevin De Bruyne has made clear that the team are ambitious and only thinking about winning the tournament in Russian Federation.
