“He extended at Barca earning less because he wanted to stay in Barcelona“, Wagner Ribeiro added.
With Neymar absent, Barcelona have won all four of their games without him. PSG were ready to pay the buy-out clause of €190m.
Riberio says that Neymar was offered an annual salary of €40m (£33.8m) after tax, is a mammoth weekly sum of £650,000.
“People have said 10,000 different things about my son”. “Neymar’s owners are Barcelona”.
The Brazilian was linked with a move away from the Nou Camp before ending speculation over his future by signing a new long-term contract with the Spanish champions. His deal has a buyout clause of €200m for the first year of his contract, €222m for the second and €250m for the remaining three years.
According to Ribeiro, the Brazilian was a little tempted by the offer made by the French champions but he chose to stay in Barcelona because it is his “dream club”.

Ribeiro was one of the agents behind Neymar’s move to Barcelona from Santos in 2013 and is still one of the player’s advisors. “It’s obscene. Neymar used us to strengthen his hand with Barcelona”.
