NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell Finally Speaks on Colin Kaepernick Protest
Citing his father’s military service and family members in law enforcement, Shaquille O’Neal said Wednesday he did not agree with the method of Colin Kaepernick’s protest against racial inequality.

Curry was interviewed on CNBC Wednesday and was asked about the controversy surrounding the 49ers quarterback, who has said he would not stand for the anthem to protect police killings of African Americans that go unpunished.
“I support our players when they want to see change in society, and we don’t live in a flawless society”, Goodell said in an email to the AP. “On the other hand, we believe very strongly in patriotism in the National Football League”, he told The Associated Press. “I believe in the people, and WE can be the change!”
“Players have a platform, and it’s his right to do that”. With that comes responsibility to use those platforms properly.
On the topic of Kaepernick, Boyer talked about how the 49ers quarterback reached out to him after he wrote the letter and how the pair spoke for over an hour in a San Diego hotel lobby prior to San Francisco’s preseason game against the Chargers. Kaepernick is refusing to stand during the anthem in protest of police brutality and oppression of minorities in America.
Kaepernick provided something of an answer today, ESPN reports, when he announced on Instagram that he will donate all the proceeds he receives from jersey sales to charity.
Kaepernick will open the season as the 49ers backup quarterback for their season opener against the Los Angeles Rams Monday night.
Those who stand with Colin Kaepernick for not standing for the national anthem, you’re receiving support from an unlikely source – the NFL merchandise buying public. We encourage our players to be respectful in that time and I like to think of it as a moment where we can unite as a country. “We will also continue to allow players to participate in the pre-match ceremony in a manner consistent with their personal beliefs, reflecting our respect for the rights earned and defended by those fighting for our nation”. I would be very interested to hear his observations.

Obama continued, “But I’d rather have young people engaged in the argument and trying to think through how they can be part of our democratic process than those who are just sitting on the sidelines”. “Hopefully the conversation is about what his message was, not the fact that, is he going to stand or is he going to sit for the national anthem”. Kaepernick’s actions have led to a fair amount of healthy discussions regarding the issues he’s chosen to protest.
