NFL Draft: Chargers prepare to make their first pick

DE Joey Bosa could be a franchise player down the road for the Bolts. He also sat down with USA TODAY Sports to talk about his feelings leading up to the first round of the draft, where he could be the first defensive player selected. Other quarterbacks taken are a mixed bag of franchise players and abject busts: Drew Bledsoe (1993), Tim Couch (1999), Michael Vick (2001), JaMarcus Russell (2007), Matthew Stafford (2009), Sam Bradford (2010), Andrew Luck (2012) and Jameis Winston (2015). “At 6’7” 291 pounds, Buckner is a goliath of a man with plenty of upside to go along with the immediate help he would provide on the line.

More Buckeyes could be coming in round one and beyond. They also managed a league-low 3.5 yards per rush. With an early third round pick, the likes of Connor Cook, Christian Hackenburg, Kevin Hogan, or Dak Prescott could potentially be available. One day before the draft and the speculation runs rampant. Aguayo won the Lou Groza Award, given to the best kicker in college football, as a freshman in 2013 and finished his career as the most accurate kicker in NCAA history.

The pundits erred in figuring that his meandering 40-yard dash time of 4.86 seconds would slow his roll.

Of course, it could all be a big misdirection play and the Jags could happily pick linebacker Myles Jack or cornerback/safety Jalen Ramsey and completely fake out the draft analysts with the move. Ramsey is not just shorts and t-shirts successful, however.

As great as the College Football Playoff National Championship game was, we truly missed out on what could have been an all-time classic had the Buckeyes and Crimson Tide met in a playoff rematch.

Bosa: I don’t really think so. Now he’ll look to best his elders (both picked No. 16 overall) on draft day.

The Steelers will not compete for a Super Bowl with the current secondary it has in place.

The former St. Thomas Aquinas star is now the highest-drafted player out of the Broward County powerhouse, surpassing Hall of Famer Michael Irvin, who was taken by the Cowboys with the No. 11 pick in 1988. Joe Barksdale, San Diego’s right offensive tackle last season, signed a four-year, .5 million contract in the offseason, with $10.5 million guaranteed. While this was a freak instance, for an offensive line that has suffered an incomprehensible number of injuries over the past few years, any injury history raises a red flag. He is nearly guaranteed to be a perennial Pro Bowler and massive impact player.

San Diego fans should be very excited about their teams selection of Bosa and he should end up being a major impact player for them. He can play essentially anywhere on the defensive line, depending on how he adapts his body weight and play style, but his body is not suited for his play style.
