The Jacksonville Jaguars will play a game in England each of the next five seasons, and have a contract to extend that agreement to 2025.

The boundaries of the NFL continue to expand, with the league considering regular-season games in China in 2018 and Germany in 2017.

An analysis of how much interest there would be in such a game in the world’s most populous country is under way and being discussed at this week’s owners meetings. But few details, including which Chinese city the league will target, have been settled. “A handful of teams have already expressed interest in playing there”.

The NFL began its International Series during the 2007 season and has played at least one international regular-season game in each season since then.

NY Giants then face the LA Rams at Twickenham which is being used for the first time.

There have been previous efforts to stage exhibition games in China. One match was played in Osaka in 2002.

Last month the NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell confirmed that Mexico City would host a regular season game between the Oakland Raiders and the Houston Texans at the iconic Azteca Stadium on November 21.

The increase in the number of games can be a balancing act when it comes to scheduling and logistics as teams flying overseas have a bye week on their return.
