NFL, NFLPA lawyers met with Judge Berman Thursday
On Wednesday, ESPN’s Chris Mortensen reported that the NFL wants Brady to accept the Wells report – which concluded that the quarterback was “at least generally aware” of rule violations surrounding the deflated footballs in January’s AFC Championship Game against the Indianapolis Colts – as a condition of settlement.

No. It’s Tom Brady, and the lady behind the now-famous courtroom sketch is plenty proud of her work. But she’s so upset about this bad sketch, she felt the need to apologize. The talks continued for several hours into the afternoon.
Berman, 71, ordered the two sides to have settlement discussions multiple times, most recently entering a motion Tuesday requesting the NFL Players Association and NFL to hold talks in advance of Wednesday’s hearing. In its motion the league asked U.S. District Judge Richard Berman to confirm the suspension while the union asked him not to.
At one point, Berman seemed to be trying to defuse the controversy, saying: “This Deflategate“. I’m sure it’s disgusting. “To say, I have some serious questions about both of your cases and I could rule against each of you based on the questions I have”.
“I don’t know yet what I’m going to do with this one, if that’s what you’re asking”, she said. If the parties don’t settle, the next court date is scheduled for August 19.
As Goodell arrived at the courthouse, he was greeted by a smattering of boos as he walked inside. Of the respondents, 78% thought that Brady’s four-game ban was too long. He increased the pressure on both men by ordering them to appear in court in person to discuss a possible deal.
Kessler conceded that Brady should have been more open with NFL investigator Ted Wells, but defended Brady’s destroying of his cell phone.
Goodell suspended Brady after concluding he “knew about, approved of, consented to, and provided inducements and rewards” to support a scheme in which a Patriots employee deflated balls on game day. Brady insists he knew nothing about it.
In response to the courtroom sketch of Tom Brady that swept the Internet, The Star’s editorial cartoonist tried his hand at drawing Tom Brady, Roger Goodell, Robert Kraft and Bill Belichick in about two minutes each.

Brady recently got dragged into the Ben Affleck ex-nanny scandal, when 28-year-old Chrisitine Ouzounian was photographed wearing his four Super Bowl rings while on a private jet with him and Affleck en route to Las Vegas.
