NFL Notebook: Brady Draws a Big Cheer on the Field

US District Court Judge Richard Berman is hearing the case which began in January when footballs used by Brady and the Patriots’ offensive unit were found to be below NFL minimums for air pressure during a playoff game against Indianapolis, making them easier to grip, grab and hold.

“And on the other field, Tom Brady was working with the running backs and the tight ends”.

With Roger Goodell announcing earlier this week that the NFL elected to uphold the four-game suspension of the football star, the decision of Brady’s camp to appeal did not exactly come as a surprise.

New England opened training camp on Thursday.

Granted, it wasn’t a padded practice, but based on his sharpness and accuracy if this was a sign of how good he’s going to be when he does play, it sure looks like No. 12 is more than a little motivated for championship No. 5.

“We’re not really looking that far ahead”, Garoppolo deflected in true Patriots fashion.

According to the site, the odds of Brady settling his case out of federal court, where it’s now filed, are 9-5. He said that he replaced his “broken” phone only after he told the NFL he would not be handing it over, and claims to have contacted the phone company to try to get a transcript of his records and texts so he could supply them to the investigator, but was unable to do so. “It’s kind of BS if you ask me”.

But coach Bill Belichick made it clear the team’s focus is on the field, not the sky or anywhere else.

But the possibility of Brady not starting the opener has catapulted the young, naive backup Garoppolo into the middle of the biggest story in the NFL these days. Fans and the media have been deliberating these and other issues with the same fervor as ranking the greatest quarterbacks of all-time (which, naturally, has been complicated by the allegations against Brady). A seemingly frustrated co-owner John Mara said the team hasn’t been allowed to examine Pierre-Paul, so it has no idea when he will be able to play. “It’s kind of BS if you ask me”.

And just for today, the Patriots’ quarterbacks equally split the reps, with Brady taking the lead role.

While both the NFL and the NFL Players Association (NFLPA) have yet to reach an agreement on the future of the New England Patriots quarterback, a report in the NFL website disclosed that everyone involved approved of a timeline.
