EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -Giants first-year head coach Ben McAdoo rested star quarterback Eli Manning and All-Pro wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr.in Friday’s preseason opener against the visiting Miami Dolphins, but the team may still have suffered some important casualties in the 27-10 loss.

The start of the preseason game between the Miami Dolphins and the New York Giants at MetLife Stadium has been delayed 51 minutes by the threat of severe weather.
Head Coach Adam Gase, who was the opposing offensive coordinator in that Dolphins preseason opener at Chicago last summer, said before the Dolphins left for NY he wasn’t sure how much playing time the starters would get against the Giants, although he indicated running back Arian Foster would be kept out of the game.
The Dolphins also changed head coaches the offseason, bringing in former Broncos offensive coordinator Adam Gase to replace interim play-caller Dan Carpenter.
Ryan Nassib, who has thrown 10 passes in his first three seasons with the Giants, will start.
Cruz (groin) is not doing 1-on-1s after working during the first two periods.
Receiver Victor Cruz, linebacker Keenan Robinson and defensive end Kerry Wynn will not play for the Giants because of groin injuries.
Preseason football can be like going to the dentist – you know as soon as you get it over with, things begin to feel much better. “It was my first game as a Giant, which is exciting. hopefully, I can just build off of this in my next game”.
“I listen to the medical report”, he said. Ajayi having a good night against the Giants will go a long way silencing the critics. “We’ll have to look at a couple of plays in the run game”. “We will also get [former Dolphins QB] Logan [Thomas] some work, as well”.
Eli Manning and the Giants proved just how risky their offense can be at times previous year.
Jarvis Landry said Miami’s first team wants to make the most of its limited time Friday. “I felt like I could go and get it”. Rookie wide receiver Sterling.
“I made the decision not to play Eli tonight”, McAdoo said in a statement released by the team.

Little worked out for the Giants on either side of the ball on Friday night, especially after the first quarter ended. Parker should be ready for the second preseason game. At the end of the day, it seems more likely than not that several players (Milhouse, Hughes, Coleman, Nix, Cudjo) are vying for one roster spot. If the Giants stubbornly move Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie to the slot to get Eli Apple onto the field, then Apple better remind us of Mark Collins or Jason Sehorn, rather than Jayron Hosley.
