NFL Pro Bowl 2016

Sunday night’s 2016 NFL Pro Bowl football game shifts action back to Hawaii following a one-year pit stop in the Arizona desert last year.

Players on Team Irvin each received a bonus check of $58,000, while the members of Team Irvin went home from Hawaii with $29,000 each. Wilson competed eight of 12 passes for 164 yards and three touchdowns, and he was named the game’s Most Valuable Player.

His touchdown toss to Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce was also a third-down play from 4 yards out as Team Rice claimed a 7-0 advantage.

Meanwhile, All-Pro cornerback Richard Sherman played a little offense too-running a laughable reverse for -22 yards.

Bucs running back Doug Martin led Team Rice with 20 yards rushing on seven carries and the game’s only touchdown on the ground, a 3-yarder in the third quarter.

Team Irvin doubled up Team Rice with 53-yard touchdown pass from Bucs quarterback Jameis Winston to Titans tight end Delanie Walker, who got behind Packers outside linebacker Julius Peppers.

Of course, superstar quarterbacks Peyton Manning of the Denver Broncos and Cam Newton of the Carolina Panthers will be absent because their teams will meet on February 7 in the Super Bowl.

“Any time you have the opportunity to play the great game of football, you take advantage of the opportunity”, Wilson said.

The Seahawks star, who was the first player picked in the all-star game’s draft, led scoring drives on three of Team Irvin’s first four possessions at Aloha Stadium.

It’s a small, and mostly unwanted, consolation for Seahawk players selected to play in the NFL Pro Bowl. Winston made it a 28-point game with a 7-yard dart to Hopkins, who finished with three catches for 71 yards.

GIVING BACK: One of the biggest thrills for Minnesota Vikings safety Harrison Smith was getting to spend some time with a young fan wearing his jersey from the Make A Wish Foundation after Friday’s Team Rice practice. Woodson announced during the season that this would be his a year ago.

Buffalo’s Taylor got into the scoring column with a 31-yard touchdown pass to Miami’s Jarvis Landry. Rice drafted Eli Manning with his first pick, second overall. Walker caught three passes for 80 yards and a score, while Hopkins added 71 yards and a touchdown on three catches from the quarterbacks of Team Irvin.
