Other players who were No. 1 picks and went to NFL’s all-star game in the same season are Ki Aldrich in 1939, Dave Parks in 1964, Tommy Nobis in 1966, O.J. Simpson in 1969, Earl Campbell in 1978, Billy Sims in 1980, George Rogers in 1981, Jake Long in 2008 and Andrew Luck in 2012. Team Rice’s quarterbacks threw a total of six interceptions, and the Pro Bowl featured a total of nine turnovers.
Wilson was the game’s offensive MVP by going 8 of 12 for 164 yards and three touchdowns.
HONOLULU (AP) – Russell Wilson threw three first-half touchdown passes to lead Team Irvin to a 49-27 victory over Team Rice in the Pro Bowl on Sunday.

Irvin, a Hall of Fame receiver, grabbed Wilson, the Seattle Seahawks’ signal-caller, with the first pick in the Pro Bowl roster draft and then stacked his team with a bevy of elite pass-catchers and young running backs.
Team Irving extended its lead to 21-7 after Wilson found Todd Gurley of St. Louis open for a 10-yard touchdown pass early in the second quarter.
Team Irvin wasted little time getting the lead back to 14 points on a 50-yard touchdown pass from Minnesota’s Teddy Bridgewater to Tampa Bay’s Allen Robinson, Dan Bailey hitting the PAT to make it 35-21. Team Rice went up 7-0 on an Eli Manning to Travis Kelce touchdown pass, and Team Irvin came right back with a Russell Wilson touchdown pass to Julio Jones. He completed eight with one touchdown and three interceptions. Players were selected without regard to conference in voting by fans, coaches and players and later assigned to Pro Bowl teams via a fantasy football-style draft. “Playing in the Pro Bowl is a special thing because to be able to see all the fantastic players across the league, who are the best players in the world and to be able to play on one field together is a really, really cool thing”. A record 133 players were voted in or added as Pro Bowl alternates…. Last year Team Irving beat Team Carter 32-28 in a game both closer and lower scoring than most games in the old format.
