On Wednesday, ESPN’s Adam Schefter broke the news that the National Football League will announce on Thursday that the city of Philadelphia will host the 2017 draft.

Philly last served as home to an NFL Draft in 1961.

The 2017 NFL Draft could host some big names, such as LSU running back Leonard Fournette, UCLA quarterback Josh Rosen, and Clemson quarterback Deshaun Watson. The draft was held in NY in 2014, before moving to Chicago for 2015 and 2016.

Philadelphia will grace the 2017 NFL Draft with passion. The three players are only juniors but the trio will likely be playing their final season in college this fall. The league was set on putting the 2017 NFL Draft in Philadelphia, but mayor Jim Kenney was tired on committing to a $5-million dollar budget for the event, per philly.com. “The Eagles have picks in rounds 2 through 7 as well as the Cleveland Browns”™ fourth-round selection. Obviously, fans aren’t as smart as general managers so consider that. Philadelphia has been long-rumored to be the front-runner to host the 2017 draft. This would be similar to the Super Bowl where the game is in a different location each year. Wouldn’t it be awesome if Los Angeles hosted the draft as early as 2018? Several NFL teams have said they want to host the draft in their towns. Let us know in the comments.
